Top Boot Brands of the 2026-2027 Boot Test

While there are always surprises to be had at our boot test—certain new boots that delight our testers from brands they may be less familiar with, or brands that might surge forward with new boot designs or compelling features—there remains a regular group of brands that seem to always end up at the top. While they trade podium positions the way Formula 1 teams Mercedes, Ferrari, McLaren and Red Bull do, they're always in the mix--check 'em out.

And just like F1 qualifying, where the top ten places are often divided by hundredths of a second, the finish order of top brands this year was tight. We ran a reduced footprint test format this year, with each brand entry limited to only four models, and with a perfect score target of 60 (six parameters, top score of ten for each) here’s how the top six brands shook out, by score average:

Does this matter to the ski boot buying consumer? Sure. At least it should. The best brands simply have more models that appeal to more people, period, which means that the odds of a fit match in a boot that skis well are simply higher there. Does that mean that a skier shouldn’t try on boots from other brands? Of course not—there are more great boots (from every brand we test) out there now than ever before. That said, a skier would be remiss in his or her new boot search not to have these brands on their short list for try-on.
