Even though she never really skied that much I'd still have to say my Mother because she's the one who encouraged me to start skiing and who essentially gave me my start and my very first lesson over 40 years ago.
Go to an experienced fitter with an ample and varied selection of boots and do not allow brand to influence your choice...it's about matching your foot profile to the appropriate model within a given brand. Just because a one brand worked for you 10 years ago doesn't mean they'll have a model that works now. Look for a boot that has the most balance and uniform fit qualities and one that's designed for the kind of skiing you do and for your particular skier type and disposition. Don't expect them to be perfect out of the box...a seasoned fitter will take over to get you the rest of the way. Did I say how
