ESS Boardstore

ESS…. Over 20 years of history and three stores strong. It all began back in 1988 when Mark bought a little ski & windsurf shop at Erina called Erina Sail & Ski, back in the day where skis were long and thin, one piece suits were fluro and snowboards were not long being introduced into Australia as a new way to ride the mountains…. Lift tickets were only thirty five bucks, the Ski Tube was brand new as was Friday Flat at Thredbo. The store was small occupying only the middle of the three as it is today. In 1989 ESS bought it first range of snowboards from Burton, Kemper & Hooger Booger together with a range of cool & colourful snowboard outerwear from Wave Rave. Over the next few years the store would take small bus trips off to the snow cramming 14 people in a mini bus for a weekend of fun & lots of laughs as a new breed of snowboarders hit the slopes with gusto. The store also held “Ski Shows’ at “Peppers’ at Terrigal & Central Coast Leagues Club to hype everyone up on the coming snow season, we had new products, fashion parades and a huge after parties. 1996 saw the opening of ESS Newcastle. There was an opening for a Burton account so we found a small shop for rent in Hunter street and opened a dedicated snowboard & skate shop. Amir Dimiri together with Jase Reid worked the store until it out grew it’s original digs and we moved further up to the corner of Hunter & Darby street. We then sold the business about 6 years ago. Jase Reid having had 10yearsof snow retail working in Erina and Newy over the years wanted to invest his time, passion for the sport and some coin into his own business and so….ESS Parramatta was born in May 2003 and has been and important part of the growth of ESS as a brand. ESS being three stores strong means we can share the love… we can swap stock around and provide you, our customers with the best possible service and products available. So what’s the story with Jindy? Well Mark and Jase saw a need to provide a service to our customer base that was closer to the cold white stuff and in 2005 we heard a rumour that there might be an opening for another core store so we jumped on it. Jindy ticks all the boxes with all the major accounts such as Burton, K2, Forum and more, we can provide our loyal customers with awesome demo centre and have a team of dedicated snow lovers working the store. It’s fair to say that ESS loves all things snow as well as a bunch of other stuff ….Wakeboarding, skateboarding, waterskiing & surfing. We take all our love’s seriously and aim to provide our customers with all the information they need to make informed choices on whatever sport they choose. If you haven’t been to one of our stores already then come on in and check it out.

Rhythm Snowsports

Rhythm Snowsports is just that - all about snowsports! We have been situated in Cooma, NSW, Australia, the gateway to the Snowy Mountain since 1985. As winter snowsports has grown in Australia over the last 30 years so have we! Rhythm Snowsports started out as Snowplough Skiery which was a small shop attached to the existing service station and café ‘The Country Kitchen’, the whole range on offer consisted of chains and toboggans. Two mates had a vision but more importantly the desire to work in way that supported their addiction – time on the mountain. From that true love of the cold mountain air and the feeling of freedom of being on the snow, Rhythm has grown to become the largest snow sports store in Australia. We have six departments: snowboard shop, ski shop, cross country shop, fashion & retail, service station and online store. Rhythm Snowsports carries over 200 brands and is constantly searching the globe for the best of the best.

Some of our key staff have been with us for 20 years plus. We have a dedication to employing a team who, like you, love the snow. This ensures you are getting the best first hand advice available.

Special thanks to all of our sponsors!
