Inner Bootworks

If there’s one thing we’ve learned in all our year’s of bootfitting, it’s that it really matters who buckles your boots. There are many boots in today’s market and choosing the right boot can be quite an adventure. The first thing you should know is that most modern ski boots are well designed, well constructed and perform well. Provided the boots match both the feet and the ability level of the skier. That’s where Inner Bootworks comes in. We are experts at matching boot to skier and making any modification necessary to ensure that you will ski with the greatest precision possible in the greatest comfort possible. To ski at your best, we suggest starting the boot fitting process with a custom footbed from Inner Bootworks. A custom footbed sets the foundation for your body in the boot. It will give you greater comfort, more toe room, and in most cases, reduce pressure on your inside ankles (a frequent skier problem). You will also have greater edge control and a much more stable and centered stance on your skis. At this point your boots are ready for fine-tuning for your personal needs, by either stretching or grinding the outer shell, modifying the liner or softening or stiffening the flex. We’re really good at that too. At this stage we can go the next step for stance and alignment. We can grind your boot soles to the desired cant and then add lifters. At Inner Bootworks we cater to all levels of winter sports enthusiasts and work with local skiers and riders, recreational skiers, pros and racers. We also specialize in ski boots made specifically for women. Although we don’t sell snowboard boots, we do specialize in custom fitting them so if you’re having problems with your’s, come and see us. Give Inner Bootworks a call to find our how we can custom fit a boot for you!

Alpine Options

Alpine Options has been named a member of America's Best Boot fitters for the 2013-2014 season. ABB is an organization of select independent international ski and snowboard shops specializing in custom boot fitting. "America's Best Bootfitters membership is only granted to shops whose boot fittingand customization work has demonstrated a high level of expertise, consistency, and has been proven to meet rigorous standards over the years", says ABB executive director Steve Cohen.

In addition Mr Cohen was quoted as saying, "Alpine Options shop not only has a supervising Master Boot Fitter with over ten years experience but in addition maintains a full time staff of four that all have top level Masters Certification from Masterfit University the leading trainer in the industry".

Alpine Options also has a back shop area devoted to stretching, grinding, repair and stance analysis. Custom insoles are hand made to customer specifications to obtain the optimum in boot fit.

"Carving smooth turns down the fall line may be, for some, the most difficult part of skiing and snowboarding, but finding a good boot fitter is important if you want to reach your goals" said Shop Owner Joe Podolak. "Boots are the key to a great equipment setup and probably the most important purchase. We work hard to make sure our boot fitters have the best training, equipment and are skilled in selecting the ideal boot for a customers needs which includes customizing the fit for the best performance. Often today we find that many shops no longer have the skills or the desire to seriously fit ski boots properly but you can be sure that all ABB shops are core specialty shops with the commitment to boot fitting excellence. A comfortable, good fitting boot, optimally tuned, is critical for maximizing skiing and snowboarding pleasure".

The Boot Pro

The Boot Pro is a full service ski shop located at the foot of the Okemo Access Road specializing in bootfitting, custom insoles, world class ski & board tuning, sales of high performance ski boots, skis, apparel and accessories.  We service both the recreational skier and the ski racing community using the latest in technology combined with professional expertise and experience.  A certified member of “America’s Best Bootfitters” we’re also Telemark and AT friendly carrying Scarpa and Black Diamond products.

The Boot Pro has just purchased a fully automated, 2015 Wintersteiger Mercury ski/snowboard tuning machine made in Austria.  Only one of 24 in the country, this machine is both a stone grinder and edger integrating the most advanced computer technology with state of the art mechanical components. It has the capability to custom tailor the base structure of a ski as well as set edge angles to minutely specific degrees.  The edge finish from the Mercury is second to none.

Shon Racicot, a lifetime resident of Ludlow, Vermont, started his career in the ski industry in 1986.  In 2008 he and his wife, Alex, opened The Boot Pro Ski Shop on the corner of the Okemo Access Road in Ludlow.

Bootfitting has always been Shon’s passion and is the cornerstone of this full service ski shop.  A 16-time attendee of Masterfit University, SKI Magazine called “Bootfitter Shon Racicot, Okemo’s local secret…..a miracle worker” (2007).

The Boot Pro’s lab is located in the heart of the shop where customers can watch Shon and his staff at work.  Many of the tools have been specially made to Shon’s specifications to facilitate precision modifications.

The staff at the Boot Pro prides themselves on being able to identify and accommodate an athlete’s biomechanical imbalances. Standard services include custom footbeds, heater installation, shell and liner modification, stance analysis and balancing, canting, custom liners, boot sole planing and lifter installation.  The shop is located close to Okemo’s slopes so fine tuning and adjustments are extremely convenient.

Shon firmly believes that integrating custom footbeds with the ski boot will provide a skier with stability far superior to that provided by the stock insole of the boot. Sales of custom insoles equal sales of ski boots at The Boot Pro – a statistic which speaks for itself.

The selection of skis and boots is carefully chosen to offer the best quality and performance for the price.  All levels of skier can find equipment that will match their skills and budget.

The tuning department, featuring a 2015 Wintersteiger Mercury stonegrinder/edger, is run by Randy Haskell and a talented team of technicians, who together have close to 70 years of tuning experience.   The shop offers all levels of tuning services with an emphasis on serving the race community and their specific tuning needs.
